The Bend in the Boyne, or Brú na Bóinne, which in 1993 was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is perhaps one of the most significant Neolithic complexes in the world, not only with respect to its size and number of monuments, but more importantly its wealth of Neolithic petroglyphs, which constitutes the largest collection of rock art in Europe.
